July Featured Partner–Boy Scouts of America

Community Auctions is so excited to expand our partnership with the Boy Scouts of America to include parts of South Carolina now as well as Georgia. Since our original partnership in 2019 we have been blessed to be able to raise over $32,000 in benefit of the Boy Scouts of America. What an honor to help so many children learn strong ethical and moral values in the great outdoors!

The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) is a youth organization in the United States that was founded in 1910. The BSA is based on the Scouting movement, which was founded by Robert Baden-Powell in England in 1907. The BSA’s mission is to “prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the Scouting values.”

The BSA has a long and storied history. In the early years, the BSA was primarily focused on outdoor activities, such as camping, hiking, and fishing. However, the BSA has since expanded its programs to include a variety of other activities, such as community service, leadership development, and STEM education. Despite several controversies, the BSA remains one of the largest youth organizations in the United States. In 2022, the BSA had over 2.3 million youth members and over 1 million adult volunteers.

The Boy Scouts are such an important part of childhood for so many American children, both boys, and girls. I was a Cub Scout leader for my son and learned about camping with him. We shared the adventures of river rafting, marshmallow roasting, and building pinewood racecars and he met his best friend, who remains so 25 years later. Scouting turns children into caring responsible adults. I’m proud to have been a part of it and proud to be part of the Community Auctions family which continues to support this incredible organization.
