Community Auctions is proud to recognize Boston Children's Hospital as our Featured Partner for September.  With September being "Back to School" month, we want to honor a facility that cares for its young patients and serves as a teaching and research hospital for our next generation of doctors.  Since partnering with Community Auctions, we have raised over $10,500 for Boston Children's and are looking forward to increasing that total.

Founded in 1869 as a 20-bed facility, Boston Children's has been a dedicated frontrunner in pediatric care and research. From the first milk lab in 1891 to check the purity of milk before pasteurization became commonplace, to experimental pediatric heart surgery in the 1930s,  to revolutionary in utero heart surgery in the 2000s, Boston Children's has always led the way.  Boston Children's Hospital has been ranked #1 in pediatric hospitals for the last nine years in a row.  No wonder that Boston Children's is "where the world comes for answers."

Boston Children's Hospital has been a non-profit facility since its inception.  Originally created to provide care for Boston's poor urban children, the hospital now takes patients from around the world.  Tufts University partners with the hospital to provide observational training for undergraduate pre-med students, hands-on educational residency, internships for medical students, and top-notch labs for post-grad medical researchers.  Boston Children's has always made it its mission to push the boundaries of what's possible in pediatric health care.  It is not surprising that they continue to maintain their ranking.

We at Community Auctions are honored to be even a small part of their success.  In this "Back to School" time, we wish success to all of the medical students pursuing their futures at Boston Children's Hospital.  Our children are lucky to have them!

As Eleanor Roosevelt said, "The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams."  Boston Children's Hospital has been chasing dreams for over 150 years.
