Every August, South Williamsport becomes the center of the youth baseball universe. Twenty teams of 10- to 12-year-olds from across the United States and around the world take the field at the Little League International Complex. Families pack the hillside at Howard J. Lamade Stadium. Downtown fills with fans, flags, and first-time visitors who just want to be part of it.

The 2026 Little League Baseball World Series, presented by T-Mobile, runs August 19–30. Admission to the games is free. Parking is free. The championship is Sunday, August 30. Little League was born here. That is not marketing copy. The tournament has been played in this valley since 1947, and the 2026 edition is the 79th Little League Baseball World Series. Twenty regional champions. Thirty-eight games. Twelve days. Two stadiums. One championship Sunday.

The complex sits at 617 E. Mountain Avenue in South Williamsport. Games split between Lamade Stadium and Volunteer Stadium. Most seats are first-come, first-served. The famous grass hillside is still free. ESPN, ESPN2, and ABC carry the big games, but nothing on television matches standing on that hill when a 12-year-old turns on a fastball.

•        Tuesday, August 18 — Grand Slam Parade through downtown Williamsport (West Fourth Street from Maynard to Market).

•        Wednesday, August 19 — Opening day. First games at the complex.

•        Friday, August 28 — Williamsport Welcomes the World, 5–9 p.m. downtown. Live music, kids zones, food, and merchandise. No games that day, so the city itself is the event.

•        Saturday, August 29 — International Championship (12:30 p.m.) and U.S. Championship (3:30 p.m.) on ABC, plus the Challenger Division exhibition in the morning.

•        Sunday, August 30 — Third-place game in the morning. World championship at 3 p.m. on ABC.

River Valley Transit is running the free Little League Express every 15 minutes from downtown (Trade & Transit Center / Church Street Garage) to the complex. Park downtown, ride the bus, then walk the restaurants, hotels, and shops where our tables are set.

These Williamsport Tables Benefit Make-A-Wish

Make-A-Wish Greater Pennsylvania and West Virginia has been granting wishes since 1983. The chapter covers 57 counties in Pennsylvania — including Lycoming County — and has fulfilled more than 22,000 wishes. Popular wishes still include Disney trips, sports experiences, play sets, and once-in-a-lifetime days that a family would never be able to build on their own.

Williamsport already has a heart for this work. Local students at Williamsport Area High School have organized Make-A-Wish benefit concerts for more than a decade. During LLWS week, the city is full of kids who still believe a baseball field can change a life. Pairing that energy with Make-A-Wish is not a stretch. It is the same story.
